Earth Day 2/22/2022

In the mailbox this morning…

John Muir was born on this day (February 21, 1838) in Dunbar, Scotland .

And, Paul Hawken reminded me this morning that mainstream media's profit-based motives drive its focus of generating messages to trigger our amygdala – the fear, fight, flight part of our brains. Paul noted that this explains why there is so little messaging in that mainstream regarding the ongoing emergence of regenerative consciousness dedicated to healing our planet (and our Psyches) by literally millions upon millions of us. We have allowed that mainstream to create a kind of “other” separation of the climate crisis from our consciousness. That “other,” that “enemy” is us. The healing of our planet is about evolution: from within the heart of our caring and extending into the world around us. It is found in the awareness – forever a part of indigenous peoples' traditions – that we are, humans, trees, rivers, animals, rocks and souls interconnected in the web of life.
