The autobiography of an oyster
In the mailbox this frigid one-degree morning:
Today is the 102nd anniversary of the birth of Federico Fellini ( 1920, Rimini, Italy). Yesterday saw the birthday of Edgar Allan Poe (Boston, 1809), and the 76th birthday of Dolly Parton (Sevier County, Tennessee, 1946). And Tuesday the 18th marked the anniversary of the birth of A.A. Milne (London, 1882).
"When you wake up in the morning, Pooh," said Piglet at last, "what's the first thing you say to yourself?" "What's for breakfast?" said Pooh. "What do you say, Piglet?" "I say, I wonder what's going to happen exciting today?" said Piglet. Pooh nodded thoughtfully. "It's the same thing," he said." ― A.A. Milne.
Everything’s always changing. And you might be thinking yeah, well, this is something everyone knows, but when this recognition arises as a deep experiential knowing, as an insight, it can profoundly affect your life. Everything we notice inside us, breath, thoughts, feelings of anger, of pleasure, it’s moving. Nothing’s holding still, the leaves in the breeze, the birds, the seasons, the planets. So, when we really register this, that perspective can invite us to relax our resistance, relax our controlling, and to let go and more with the everchanging flow. – Tara Brach
All art is autobiographical; the pearl is the oyster’s autobiography. – Fellini.
It's the same thing.
