On today’s date, playwright Eugene O’Neill was born in a Broadway hotel room in 1888 New York City.

And, one of the most quoted authors in the English language, Irish writer Oscar Wilde ( Oscar Fingal O’Flahertie Wills Wilde) was born on this date in 1854 Dublin.
