A Third Way

In the mailbox this morning…

Human existence is essentially tragic. All of reality is imprinted with contradictions. It is the resolving of those seeming contradictions that characterizes the mystics, the saints, the prophets, and all those who “pray.”

There is a third Way, we could also just call “wisdom,” and it probably is a way of “kneeling,” “meditation,” or even “prayer.” All these terms always distinguish from mere intelligence. This Way (a choice and a demand at the same time) is an immediate transformation of consciousness and a move beyond the dualistic, win/lose mind. – after Fr. Richard Rohr

There is a huge silence inside each of us that beckons us into itself, and the recovery of our own silence can begin to teach us the language of Creation – Meister Eckhart

Theologians may quarrel, but the mystics of the world speak the same language. – Meister Eckhart
