Howlin' at the Moon
In the mailbox this morning, a reminder:
This evening in 1955, Allen Ginsberg read his poem "Howl” at the Six Gallery in San Francisco. Beginning Wednesday the 20th, the “Hunter's Moon” will prevail for several days/evenings (first full moon after the “Harvest Moon” which this year fell on September 20th). We might use this occasion (een if it's just once) to remember our ancestors who provided for us under the influence of this miracle-of-the-ordinary, and, perhaps for the more recent “...angelheaded hipsters burning for the ancient heavenly connection to the starry dynamo in the machinery of night...” All of which, let it be said, are perverse for Halloween and Dia de los Meuretos.
