Today is the 98th anniversary of the birth of James Baldwin, in Harlem, New York, in 1924.

On this day in 1776, the Declaration of Independence was signed in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, by 56 delegates of the Second Continental Congress, although it is popularly believed to have been signed a month earlier on the fourth of July. The “resolution for independence” was adopted on the 4th, but not signed until August 2nd... jus'sayin' so's you know...
