In Tews' day's mailbox …
Today is the 135th anniversary of painter/sculptor Georgia O'Keeffe's birth, in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin (1887).
And poet Marianne Moore was born the same day as Ms. Okeeffe, 135 years ago today, but in Kirkwood, Missouri (1887).
-454.81 farenheit or 2.7 degrees Kelvin … that's how cold the universe is according to somebody (Michael Dine, actually ) with a physics Ph.D. degree. Just how hot or cold that is, I cannot know with accuracy since I have a Ph.D. as well and therefore would obviously warp any measurement or thought experiment of my own. The interdisciplinary social science/ liberal arts doctorate might also influence any such speculation as well. So, I'll leave it at this: The universe is really freakin' cold. My 2 degrees below freezing walk around the park this morning at sunrise was nowhere near the the universal mark, but generated these notes in the mailbox (on the Watercourse Way).
