In Green Country today, strong, gusty Southerlies are in the forecasts for a true Summer start with thunderstorm chances morning and heat into the mid 90's for TulseyTown's afternoon.
It's also Fathers' Day. In 1966, Lyndon Johnson issued a proclamation designating the third Sunday in June to honor fathers, and it finally became an official, permanent national holiday during the Nixon administration. The record of a day honoring fathers dates back to 1909.

And Anne Carson is 75 today. The Canadian poet, essayist, translator, and classicist was born June 21, 1950, Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Her work treats classical subjects in what has been called a postmodern fashion. Her style is at once quirky, inventive, and erudite.
