'Tis the season.
“I think it pisses God off if you walk by a field of purple and don't notice it.” – Alice Walker.
We know our planet is possessed of a disease that has generated a climate emergency. It has invaded our bones. There is a fear here that colors everything and goes unrecognized into every aspect of our days. Many of our kin are projecting this fear from our psyches into even our ideologies and politics, without realizing they are the cause of the continuing fever.
As we enter this season of holy days, it would serve us well to remember that we create our future by how we live in this moment-by-moment reality of our thoughts and actions. There is a sacredness in our appreciation of nature, of our families, neighbors, even the weather-patterns. This is called gratitude, and it is missing in our everyday awareness. We seem to have abandoned our very heart-space and wonder why we are experiencing our lives so fearfully alone.
Quantum physics is showing us the truth of this disconnect: We are not alone. Rather, we are interconnected by every energetic spark flowing through the woof and warp of the universal fabric. Fear is the consequence of our denial of this very fact.
We have the power to change our thinking. We might consider bringing gratitude into the moments that make up our days. This is the season that calls to us to slow down from our rush to get somewhere else and find a moment, even if it is just moment, to appreciate being in that moment. The pathways of presence will lead you to the gratitude of the heart. Where is the goodness in your life?
There is a crack in everything. That's how the light gets in. – Leonard Cohen
