In the mailbox this cold January morning, dedicated by name as “Sol's Day,” a reminder that today is the 14th anniversary of the birth (1908) of Simone de Beauvoir. A philosopher equal to her lover Jean-Paul Sartre, she wrote in The Second Sex: "One is not born a woman, one becomes one." Some argue that single line jump started the feminist movement. I am thankful for them and the movement.
