Sunday, August 31, 2025. It's Sol's day . . . and the weatherfeather, as only occasionally reliable, indicates more rain for TulseyTown today. Likely the on/off kind. Light breezes and low 80's.

If you are among the millions of Americans who want spirituality without religion, Sam Harris’s New York Times bestseller “Waking Up” is a guide to a rational practice informed by neuroscience and psychology. The paperback ed. is only $10. An excellent read.

It is not religions that are in conflict, but the shadow selves of hate and other harmful beliefs disguised as religion – Omid Safi, Meditations, The Center for Action and Contemplation.

Saturday, August 30, 2025. It's the Satyr's day … A perfectly calm morning in my TulseyTown neighborhood.

Today is the birthday of one of the world's wealthiest investors, Warren_Buffett. He turns 95 today, celebrating in the same town where he was born in 1930 Omaha, Nebraska.

Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley was born on this day. The author of Frankenstein, considered by many as the first science fiction book, was born in 1797, London, England. My postman reminded me that Frankenstein was not the monster, but the doctor who created him, and that the original 1818 text was a philosophical exploration of humanity’s relationship with creation.

Stillness. No leaf moves even at the top of the 60 foot Sycamore that all but engulfs the house and large corner lot across the way from my small cottage. A random leaf just moved by a one lone honking Canadian going only he knows where. A rare stillness to start another cloudy day with rain chances. Eventually, easy Southeasterlies are forecasted to bring upper 70's and a bit of flutter in the leaves preparing for a golden Fall.
